I’ve had the pleasure of testing out many smartwatches over the years, so I was excited to try this one out. Its price comes in slightly more expensive than some smartwatches, but you will tend to find, among the odd extra or less feature here and there, that they all offer the same sort of thing. This watch does feel nice, and I would say this particular model is aimed more towards men due to its chunky feel. That said, I don’t mind wearing this style of watch and don’t think it appears odd sitting on a lady’s wrist. The watch already has some battery life when it arrives, so it is ready to use straight out of the box. You will need to download their app to get started, which you can do using the QR code that displays on the screen upon boot. As with most smartwatches, it takes you a couple of minutes to familiarise yourself with the user interface, but once you know your way around, it’s all fairly straightforward. Now, the first thing I look for when I try the watches is where I can adjust the time of the screen blanking out, as they are usually always set to display for a max of 3-5 seconds before going off. This drives me nuts, as if I’m not touching the screen and just looking at something (or wanting to take a picture for review purposes), it goes off. This watch does not seem to have that option anywhere, so that was an instant annoyance for me from the get-go.The app is fairly easy to navigate, and it boasts a huge amount of watch faces, so there should be a style that covers everybody’s taste. You simply download the one you fancy, then sync it to your watch.Sometimes I find the measurements the watches take can differ, and this one is no different. I wore one of my other smartwatches, as well as this one, overnight to compare the sleep analysis, and although they both agreed on the duration of sleep, they gave different readings as to how long I was in a deep sleep, light sleep and awakened states. Not too much of an issue, but it does just highlight the fact that the readings of the results you get should only be taken as a guide and not an accurate representation. The screen on this watch is AMOLED, which gives you greater clarity and depth of colour compared to a TFT screen. The images are sharp and clear, which makes the watch feel more premium than other models. All in all, I’ve really enjoyed trying out this smartwatch and the many features it offers. There is certainly plenty of choice and a lot more available than a lot of the lesser-priced watches.Would I recommend this watch? For functionality and aesthetics, yes, I probably would. The price is a little more than some others that are just as capable, but it is definitely one to consider. I just wish I could choose to make the display stay on longer. 4/5

Tolle Uhr. Schickes Design. Preis-Leistung absolute Spitze. Würde ich wieder kaufen oder verschenken.

This is a large but stylish and lightweight smartwatch, definitely a good bet for someone who wants to dip their toe in the water and not spend hundreds of pounds on a big brand watch that needs charging daily. Battery life on this watch is excellent, so far I’ve charged it once, used it on-and-off for a week and it’s still got 11% battery in the tank. The touchscreen display is very bright, easily viewable even in full sun which I found surprising. The strap is very soft, very adjustable (with 18 stops) and is also easily removeable, having two sprung catches which can be pulled to release the strap from the watch for cleaning or replacement. On the rear of the watch are also the LED sensing ring for detecting SpO2 and pulse, plus two contacts which are used for the magnetically-attached (and included) USB-A charging cable. No wireless charging here unfortunately, and no charging stand available either. Hopefully AGM will add a stand to their product lineup. Note that when it’s charging it won’t let you access any functions. Time, charge state, the fact it’s charging, that’s all you get. When you first switch the watch on it will display a QR code to let you download the accompanying smartphone app. Once this is down and you’ve registered a new account, pair to the watch and it’ll upgrade the firmware and AGPS data. Two minutes, all done and you’re good to go.It has three watch face designs built-in, but there are almost 100 more smart faces available through the app and no doubt more on the way. Any two of these faces can be swapped into the two spare face locations on the watch, each time you do this Dial04 is removed, Dial05 becomes Dial04 and the new one becomes Dial05 and active. One review photo shows the current watch face collections shown in the app. At the moment 20 aren’t yet sorted into category so are only found in the “Latest watch faces” collection (I’ve blurred the 10 out which appear in the other menus as well). A quick way to switch between stored watch faces is to press and hold the clock face, One annoyance is that the date on dials using digits for the month is in US format (month/day), not the format used by pretty much everyone else in the world (day/month), this is something that will hopefully come in a software update.Given the vast array of watch faces at your disposal you’ll be pleased to know you can mark any of them as “favourites” which puts them in their own separate watch face collection within the app for easy picking. In addition to these “feature rich” dials there us a choice of 15 “Album dials”. These offer a choice of backgrounds and basic day/time fonts, but you can choose to replace the background with your own photograph and change the text colour. Unfortunately they only appear as basic day/time dials, and not as a background to add gauges and widgets to.From the initial watch display (which will automatically show whenever you tilt the watch face towards yourself) you can swipe across the glass to select heart monitor, SpO2 (blood oxygen), stress level or monitor sleep data once it’s got some stored. Swipe down for notifications, swipe up for settings.Ah yes, notifications. It’s paired to your phone, so if you get a text message it’ll come up on your watch and you can even answer calls on the watch (I’ll need to play more with this as it can be a bit confusing when you’re not sure whether the caller is now on your wrist or in your pocket).Of the watch’s two physical buttons, the top-right (menu) button – which is also a turnable dial like a watch winder – brings up a menu in a choice of three styles; either a clock face-style “wheel” (with additional menu options sliding in at the 9 o’clock position as there are 25 menu options but only 12 spots), a strange “scatter” bubble which you drag around to get the options in-frame, or a conventional list. This menu is very detailed, giving you quick access to the following screens, many of which can also then be scrolled for more info:-Stats (calories, steps, standing, distance)Workouts (see the Sport button below as it’s the same function)History (as in workout history)Rapid Health (a quick health check, mentioned below)SpO2 (also accessible by swiping across the watch faceSleep (ditto)Stress (ditto)BreathingHeart rate (ditto)Favourite contactsCallsKeypadWeather (scroll down for a forecast)Reminders (set through the app)Music (or videos for that matter, whatever your phone’s playing)Alarm (a quiet but vibrating alarm which stops after 20 seconds)Timer (a choice of 1, 3, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minute countdowns, or set your own)Stopwatch (with lots of lap times, I stopped testing at 40)World clock (use the app to add a city)Find phone (the phone will vibrate when you push the buttonCalculatorBarometer (swipe across for altitude)CompassWatch facesSettingsThe Sport button bottom-right lets you select from a range of workouts, but you can edit the list using the app, for example switching off Indoor Cycling or Badminton if neither are your thing in order to tidy up the menu. Up to 10 can appear in the menu on the watch, but the app lets you choose those 10 from a list of 100. Anything from Alpine Skiing to Darts is in here! The watch’s outlook on the world is from bouncing around on your wrist though, so an exercise bike monitoring how much power you’re putting through the pedals is definitely going to give a different reading to that on the watch. Use it as a reference, not as gospel. The “Rapid Health” screen tells you to keep still for 99 seconds while it counts down, monitoring blood pressure, SpO2 and stress levels. Unfortunately once it’s displayed the screen will do its usual timeout thing, and if you push the button it’ll throw you back to the menu and forget what it was showing. What you need to do is turn the watch away then towards you, so it wakes the screen up. Leave it more than a few seconds more and it’ll forget anyway though, which is not ideal and hopefully something a future update will tweak (i.e. show the previous results until you press Start to run the test again). All in all a very impressive smartwatch. Buy this, get used to it, then buy a big brand and wonder what you’ve now thrown your money away for. This’ll do nicely. AGM ought to do a rubber bumper and a charging stand for it though.
