I pulled the Yxtel smartwatch from its box last Tuesday and, first impressions, it is a handsome little gadget. The matte-black case catches a hint of light, enough for a colleague to think I was wearing minimalist jewellery. The 1.3-inch colour touchscreen reacts smartly, and Bluetooth pairing with my well-worn Pixel 6 took about half a minute. Swapping the supplied strap for a leather one was easy thanks to the standard spring pin.The step counter, heart-rate monitor and sleep log cover the basics, though the watch once applauded me for climbing “ten flights” while I was stretched out on the sofa watching Match of the Day, so the numbers should be taken with a pinch of salt. Notifications land quickly, but the vibration is nearly silent and disappears in the Friday-night din at the local. Bright sunshine washes the screen out, and after a sweaty 10k the plastic strap looked decidedly second-hand.Battery life is a pleasant surprise: four days with brightness on medium, and the magnetic charger snaps on without a fight. It rode out a Midlands cloudburst too, with no water inside the case afterwards.Overall, it is stylish, lasts well between charges and covers everyday health stats for sensible money, just do not expect Apple-level polish or military-spec accuracy.

Sehr starke Uhr! Hält viel aus, Akku läuft lange, Display ist hell und die Bluetooth-Anrufe funktionieren zuverlässig — absolute Kaufempfehlung für alle, die eine robuste und funktionsreiche Smartwatch suchen.

I picked up the Yxtel mainly because it looks far more like a fitness band than a gadget shouting for attention. The unit arrives clad in matte black, its little 1.3-inch LCD touch screen framed by a silicone strap and only one physical button. Slip it on and it could pass for any old sports bracelet, which suits me fine.Pairing over Bluetooth 5.0 took about half a cup of tea – no drama at all – and the companion app runs happily on either Android or iOS. Once everything is talking to each other, you get the familiar toolkit: step counting, round-the-clock heart-rate readings, spot checks on blood oxygen, sleep breakdowns, message and call alerts, even a basic stopwatch. On the bright side, the battery surprised me. I squeezed just over four days out of a charge while bombarding the thing with notifications, and it still had enough juice left to record a sluggish jog on day five. Rain is no bother either; it survived a spirited trudge round Kelvingrove when a Glasgow cloud burst with my Labrador in tow. As for the vibration motor, it is spot on: firm enough to shake me out of a post-night-shift coma, not so violent that it skitters off the bedside table.Grumbles? A few. Under direct sunshine the screen fades until you find yourself cupping a hand over it. The strap, although soft, feels undeniably plastic, and the app has an irritating habit of dropping the connection if a run drags past the hour mark.Still, weigh those irritations against the price and the overall polish, and it is hard to complain. It tracks reliably, looks sharper than most budget wearables and does not empty the wallet. For the moment, it stays on my wrist.

I’ve been using this Yxtel black smart watch for a few weeks, and I really like it. It’s sleek, feels comfortable on my wrist, and the screen is easy to read. Setup was quick, and pairing with my phone worked without any problems. It tracks steps, heart rate, sleep, and even reminds me to stand up if I’ve been sitting too long. Notifications come through clearly, and the battery lasts several days before needing a recharge. It’s also water-resistant, which is a nice bonus.Overall, a solid, practical smartwatch that looks good and helps me stay on top of my health and messages without any fuss.

Smartwatch così così
[...]Parzialmente soddisfatto.
